have you ever been to a stress interview?
wel, recently i attended a stress interview..
not a typical, normal stress interview..
a very differnt kind of stress interview..
about which i have never heard..
Wel that interview was a part of a contest..
" the best manager contest"
it was a management event..
it was conducted by kannur university,
part of Techinova '08..
wel that was the name of the whole program..
Now about the contest.
There were actually three rounds..
1. Group discussion
2.Toggle
3.The stress interview
Group Discussion
the topic given to us was "is there any need of Employee Union in IT firms?"
most of us supported the point.
wel, actually it was my secong GD.
in the first gd I couldnt perform well.
and i failed miserably.
Wel in this GD also i didnt have very high expectation;
'coz i was participating against one of the bests in our college.
But to my surprise and to the surprise of all others..
I topped the GD.
the judges gave me very good comments..
wel such a situation is first of its kind as far as i was concerned.
The judges said that they have selected me because of the strong points of mine.
i wonder what all were the strong points?!!
Toggle
It was an intersting round.
they gave us two photos.
they will toggle the photos and we have to talk about the object or subject in the photo
as long as they were on the screen.
i got the photos of Aiswarya rai and that of a snake.
and the time given to us was 10 mins.
some how i managed and completed the contest.
the other figures were dosai&burger; lady with a guitar and money; small hut & a sky scraper etc.
Stress Interview
Here comes the most important and much awaited stress interview.
we were all dressed in a very executive manner so as to match the standards of the interview.
before the interview we were given a questionnare to fill up.
some of the questions were
what is your dirty name?
what is your opinion about homosexulaty?
what do you think about prostitues?
after marriage if your wife tells you about her experience of sex with other guy what will you do?
what will be your reaction if your wife gets pregnant in th efirst night?
i dont know from where they got these kindaa questions??!!!
the time for the interview came.
as i was the topper in the GD i was called for the interview first.
some of the organisors called me and i went with them.
they led me to a room where lots of make up items were kept.
i wondered why all these things were kept there.
suddenly they started applying make up on me..
i got surprised and i protested them first.
and then i came to know that it was also a part of the interview..
Oh man.. i never knew this..
and do you know what was the make over waited for me that day..

all the Keralites are familiar with this comic character.
i appreciate their creativity, 'coz the ideas came to their mind during the make up were 'awesome'.
they were in kind of ragging mood. wel they were all students.. may be of my age.
this was the make over that they given to me!!!!!!!!!
well after that i was told to run through the crowd.
wel the crowd cosistst mainly of girls.
i dont know from where i got the courage.
i did it and reached the stage.
and jugdes started asking me questions..
i have to answer their questions in that dressing..
what a stress interview!!!
the questions were mostly from the questionnare that we filled up.
i answered their questions as i can.
Situation round
this was the second round of stress interview.
we were given a situation.
we have to convey it to the audience s well as the judges.
and after that we have to suggest a solution to the situation.
i got this situation
" you have fired from an IT firm without notice and you are the only support of your family"
wel i described it to the audience and solved it.
thus my stress interview was over.
After all that was a nice experience.
in the usual case i would never go to a stage escpecially with that kinda costumes and perform.
even in front of small audience i will shiever with fear.
with that experience i thing my stage frieght has lost and i am much much more confident of myself.
